How “The Kit” came to be.

Impact Product Development & Marketing, LLC

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay area while my dad served in the Navy
at Alameda Air Station. While there, I was a Cub, Scout and Sea Scout
before moving back to Washington State to finish school. I attended
Eastern Washington State University where I graduated in Industrial
Technology with an emphasis on Graphic Communications and a minor in
Photographic Science.

I continued in the printing industry for the next twenty-five years working
from small shops up to a very large web press shop always working in the
darkrooms. The last seven years of that career was in sales and customer
service.

I started my construction Home Improvement and Maintenance business in
1999. (See my site at www.my-work-photos.com) While building and
remodeling customers’ homes I have been inspired and needed to become
an inventor and problem solver. That inventiveness has led me to an
inventing group www.open2ideas.net here on the Olympic Peninsula of
Washington State. Our group meets together for the information and
support giving. We help each other succeed.

This story now leads toward the future of my idea to start a National
(local) Boy Scout Engineering and Pioneering Building Competition much
like the Pinewood Derby Car Races for Cub Scouts. Boy Scout patrols
would compete with other patrols from the local area. The community and
young non-scouts are invited and can participate on competition day. (See Competition Goals and Leadership Team pages.)

This event could be a great way to involve former scouts and recruiting new
scouts. Who knows how far this will go? Thank you for your support, have
fun and good day.

Sincerely,

Brad Griffith
